The cities pay most of the loss back, not all of it

The municipal corporations own PMPML and pay back its operating loss each year; since FY2023-24 the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) pays a share too. In FY they paid against a loss of , and PMPML closed the year short, its largest gap. The payments fell short in of the years. Over the eight years Pimpri-Chinchwad paid of the money.

About half of every rupee spent is wages
